How to buy poles
Poles are available for pickup at our Chico, California warehouse. Delivery is not available on poles.
In state shipping
Poles in either 10 or 12 feet are $19.95. The are made out of Lodge Pole Pine specifically to be used as jump rails. There is no finer pole. There are doweled; they go through a milling machine that makes them a very consistent diameter from end to end. No taper. They will be 4- 4 ¼” in diameter. They will have natural cracks and checks in the wood that do not affect utility. Please no returns on poles, cracks and checks are a natural feature of wood. It woodn't be wood without them.
Poles may be picked up at our Chico, California warehouse. Pickups are by appointment only, so please call ahead of time and schedule a pickup time.
Octagonal Poles
An alternative to buying
our poles is to cut your own poles out of 4 x 4 lumber available at any lumber
yard. This entails ripping the corners off which will form an octagonal rail
with a 3 ½” diameter. This is a bit lighter then the doweled poles,
they are not quite as strong, but strength varies depending on the quality of
the 4 x 4. Choose the most knot free lumber available. They are very handsome
and if you do it yourself they will be quite reasonably priced. Go to our download
page for a detailed description of how to do this.
